The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7

of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for

customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

Bradford Council Department of Health & Well Being is undergoing an exciting period of transformation and change as we implement our vision for wellbeing in Bradford and District – Home First.  We have a strong vision for social work which recognises that the service is at the heart of our Home First vision.  We have appointed a Principal Social Worker who, reporting to the Strategic Director Health & Well Being, is charged with ensuring that the purpose of our adult social work practice is to uphold human rights with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 at the heart of our social work practice.  To further strengthen our social work practice and we are now seeking to appoint a Team Manager for  Adult Social Work Development

 

As Team Manager you will report to the Principal Social Worker. 

 

Specific responsibilities include:

To Coordinate the approach of the Department towards Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for qualified social work staff and others.

To further strengthen our social work practice by leading our work within the Bradford Teaching Partnership on adult social work Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Pathways.

To ensure that all social work CPD pathways further embed the department approach in ensuring that the workforce are fully equipped to deliver social work intervention which promotes the Wellbeing Principle of Care Act (2014) & Mental Capacity Act (2005) Principles 1-5
