Playground Maintenance Operative

Band 5 £16,191 - £17,547 pa

1 x 37 hours per week (with some possible weekly overtime)

Based at Peel Park

 

The Play Maintenance Team provide a repair and maintenance service for over 160 play areas and equipment. The service requires a maintenance operative to join a small team carrying out repair/maintenance work for the whole of the Bradford Metropolitan District.  The work will mainly involve the mechanical repair of all types of play equipment, safer surfacing, seating and fencing.

 

 To be a successful candidate you must have:-

 

  • A current driving licence including at least subcategory C1+E to allow towing. 
  • A comprehensive working mechanical knowledge.

 

AND

 

  • A proven knowledge of welding techniques including Oxy-Acetylene, MIG and MMA.
  • Able to communicate appropriately and effectively with a range of contacts including members of the public. 
  • The ability to sustain periods of heavy physical effort, sometimes during inclement weather.
  • Experience of working with a wide range of materials i.e. metal, wood and plastics.

 

You will be required to provide a copy of your driving licence or operating licence showing the required categories necessary for this post.

 

A health screening and/or demonstration of the ability to sustain heavy physical effort may be part of the recruitment process.
