POST 1 FT

Service Manager – Keighley


This post will prove an exciting and rewarding challenge for those looking for a new permanent opportunity

The post require you to be:

  • Professional qualification such as DIPSW, CQSW or equivalent required.
  • Experience of managing child protection work and have a good working knowledge of children's social work, with a focus on current best practice in safeguarding children.
  • Professionally qualified and able to motivate and inspire social work teams. 
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to manage highly complex child protection cases, where demand for the service is high and unpredictable.
  • be good at improving outcomes with partners, managing staff, dealing with risk and workforce issues.

The post holder will directly manage a group of qualified Social Work and Community Resource Workers . You will work closely with the Leadership team to meet the needs of young people in Bradford and be line managed by the Head of Service ( social work)

In May 2014, Ofsted found the service to be ‘Good’ for looked after, leaving care, adoption and leadership. Child Protection ‘requires improvement’ and there is a robust action plan in place that you, with staff and partners will be supported to deliver.

POST  2 FT


Service Manager - Children’s Homes


This is an exciting opportunity to take on the leadership of our internal children’s homes provision.

 

We are revising our provision to reduce the size of the homes and create three specialist care home hubs which will be closely linked to the fostering service, CAMHS team, Youth Service, Virtual school and the Police. By building wrap around on site support to the homes we feel that more young people can remain in district and achieve better long term outcomes.

 

We have invested in re training our work force focusing on embedding a signs of safety approach and establishing PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) as the means of communicating with our young people. This focuses on building improved relationships and understanding of the young people living in these settings.

 

The homes are subject to a yearly Ofsted inspection cycle, in the year 15/16 all the homes were rated good or better.

 

You will manage 8 children’s homes and provide direct management to the staff teams and registered manager. You will jointly manage the ongoing recruitment and selection of staff to this service area and be involved in placement decision making both internally and externally.

 

You must be an experienced manager with recent experience of resources management including children’s homes.

 

You must hold a recognised qualification – NVQ 4 IN Social Care (children) Dip.SW, C.Q.S.W., BA in Social Work, AND

Have a management Qualification – Diploma 5 IN Leadership and Management, MCI Level 4 in Management, DMS, CMS.
