Chef (Commis)

Band 4 £15,238 - £15,823 pa
(A Living Wage supplement is payable in addition to the salary quoted to bring the rate of pay up to the equivalent of £7.85 per hour for hours up to 37 per week)

 

1 x 37 hours per week (additional hours worked are given back as lieu time when agreed with management)

Based at Alhambra Theatre & St George’s Concert Hall (work is required to be carried out at Kings Hall Ilkley also for events and functions)

 

 

A full time vacancy has arisen for a commis chef  for our iconic city centre venues, to work across multiple sites, Alhambra Theatre, St George’s Concert Hall, Kings Hall Ilkley.

 

To support and supplement the existing chefing team (Head chef & Senior Chef) at the above venues, we are looking to recruit an experienced commis chef.

You will need a minimum of 12 months experience working as a casual support chef or commis chef in a similar sized kitchen or restaurant (82 covers) or have experience of small – medium and large scale events and function catering (Kings Hall Ilkley max covers 220)

Work will be scheduled Monday to Sunday (5 over 7) depending on the needs of the business at the three venues, to include Bank Holidays and evenings as well as day time shifts.

You will need to be enthusiastic, be able to work within the role to the highest standard dealing with tight schedules within the kitchen environment at all the above named sites.

Applicants must have the ability to work both using their own initiative and as part of a team, and display willingness to learn and update personal training as required.

A working knowledge of Food Hygiene (food safety level 2 or 3) and relevant Health & Safety knowledge would be desirable, but not essential as training will be given to the successful candidate.
