Specialist Peripatetic Practitioner

Band 8/SO1 £22,434 - £27,394 (Pro Rata)

1 x 30 hours per week Term Time Only

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, BD1 1NN


An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the SEN Teaching Support Service within the Cognition & Learning Team.

 

This role will require an experienced classroom practitioner with strong skills and a well-developed knowledge of how children learn and the range of additional support that may be needed where children are not making progress.

 

The post holder will require experience of supporting the identification of children with a wide range of learning needs. They will have experience of assessing children’s cognitive learning conditions within a school or setting. The post requires experience of working with a wide range of children, developing, preparing and using a range of appropriate resources and strategies. The post holder will be expected to work under the direction of a teacher to plan and deliver individual pupil sessions. They will also require experience of collaborative working with health care professionals, teachers, parents and children in a mainstream school setting.
