Rail North Administration Assistant

Grade D

SP 1-4 £15,648 - £18,118 per annum

Based in Leeds City Centre

 

Rail North is an organisation formed to manage Rail Franchises in the North of England. Based in central Leeds you will be supporting a new and expanding team making a difference in rail travel across the North.

 

The main principle of the role is to provide clerical administrative support to Rail North. You will be expected to provide secretarial support and administrative assistance in the day to day running of the Rail North Team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders in person and on the telephone. You will be able to generate letters, deal with emails, documents and spread sheets as directed.

 

The successful candidate will also be accountable for the collection and distribution of post, including maintaining a daily log and following up items that need a response. Ideally you will also have some experience of managing Freedom of Information (FOI) requests in accordance with agreed procedures including drafting acknowledgments, but this is not essential.
 

Due to the nature of this varied role, the applicant must demonstrate their excellent diary management skills, completing all tasks and plans to meet; or exceed tight deadlines. The candidate will also show the desire to learn and develop their skillset in accordance with the role. Preferably, you will show that you can share ideas and expertise from elsewhere, making good use of personal experience to this post.

 

The DfT/ Rail North Partnership will be based in the offices of West Yorkshire Combined Authority in Leeds. The post holder will report to the Rail Director North of England and will be employed by West Yorkshire Combined Authority
