This is an exciting career opportunity for an inspirational pro-active high performing Executive Head Chef with a credible track record in designing and delivering high end food offers to support business growth in Events, Weddings, Civic Functions and Hospitality in the unique setting of the City of Bradford’s City Hall.
Bradford City Hall is a Grade 1 listed, 19th century town hall in the heart of Bradford City centre built in a Venetian gothic style. Within City Hall there are traditional wood panelled corridors and rooms including the Council Chambers, several committee rooms, the Lord Mayor’s reception rooms, Banqueting suite, Saville room, The Old Court room, all of which provide an atmospheric unique venue in which to provide Events, Weddings and Civic Functions.
Additionally there is a Civic Restaurant open to staff and members of the public. The demand for which is set to expand as the National Rugby League Museum and a Hockney Gallery are planned to locate into Bradford City Hall.
To proactively manage the food offer at City Hall and other Civic locations. Ensuring that the food offer is customer focused, creative, appropriate for the target market, encompasses world foods, with an emphasis on fresh produce, well cooked with inventive presentation. Dishes and menus to be regularly benchmarked against the high end food offers of commercial function caterers operating at select high profile venues. The range of food to include civic restaurant, function catering, formal banquets and wedding catering.
The post holder will be well presented, an inspirational leader in the kitchen and an advocate of good food, good organisational and interpersonal skills, experienced in delivering high end hospitality and able to generate significant increases in annual sales whilst meeting budget targets.
Able to develop the capability and capacity of all kitchen staff employed in delivering Civic catering so that the food offer is consistently of a high quality and generates turnover and profit so that the hospitality service is sustainable and well regarded by service users who will be willing to pay a premium for the service in the splendour of the Civic location.
Candidates must have the following qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 Food Hygiene (Essential)
- City & Guilds 706/3 or Level 4 Diploma In Advanced Professional Cookery (Essential)
- NVQ Level 4 Business Management or equivalent (Completed and passed within 2 years of commencing employment)
- IOSH Health & Safety Certificate (Completed and passed within 6 months of commencing employment)
Candidates must have 5 years management experience within the catering industry with a minimum of 3 years in function/events catering.
The post holder is required to have a Full Driving Licence and access to a car insured for business use. (Casual User Status).
