Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, Bradford City Centre

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

Bradford Council is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Data Collection Officer to undertake an Apprenticeship scheme for 15 months.  The main duties of the role will support the accurate collection, collation and interpretation of pupil, school and performance management information.

 

We are looking for an individual who is committed to undertaking an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

 

To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have Entry Level 3 or above in Maths and English and not already qualified at Level 2 in the Business Administration/Customer Service.  (An assessment will take place before the interview stage).

 

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications by the end of the training programme. 

 

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment and a range of job activities to enable you to complete your apprenticeship.

 

The following skill competencies apply to this post:-

  • Can follow instructions in a careful and structured way to carry out a task.
  • Thinks through problems to reach a workable solution.
  • Is accurate and able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Is able to effectively use key IT packages which are necessary for the post i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Able to interpret and present data gathered in a meaningful format.
  • Knows and understands how to use, interpret, handle and communicate information.
  • Is able to obtain information by the use of appropriate questions.
  • Is able to pass on information accurately both face to face, over the telephone and by email.
  • Awareness of data protection and data security protocols
  • Taken part in training and developed new skills as a result.
  • Uses basic awareness of Health, Safety and Environment, including Risk Analysis


As this is an Intermediate Apprenticeship opportunity successful applicants at the selection stage will be assessed first on numeracy/literacy.  Only successful applicants from the assessment centre process will be invited to interview.
