Apprentice Unit Catering Manager (72849)

 

1 x 27.5 Hours per week + an additional 5 hours per week for training for the duration of the apprenticeship

Based at Glenaire Primary School, Thompson Lane, Baildon, Shipley, BD17 7LY

 

Band 4  SCP 10-12     £8.09 - £8.36 per hour

(10% salary reduction for 2 years with all Apprentice Unit Catering Managers posts)

 

An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for an Apprentice Unit Catering Manager to join the team at the above site.

 

Your main responsibility will be to lead a team in providing a complete catering operation within an agreed budget.

 

The role will also include management of staff, liaising with representatives, promotion of the services that FM Catering and Office Services offer, maximising sales and achieving customer satisfaction as well as performing varied hands-on kitchen duties.

 

You will receive a full induction, opportunities to progress within the organisation and all the benefits you would expect from working for a Local Authority employer.

 

Apprentice Unit Managers must hold the following:

  • NVQ Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (Essential)

You must be willing as an Apprentice Unit Catering Manager to work towards gaining the relevant qualification for this post 

  • NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation

From October 2016 Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking.  This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants and council employees.  This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen and understand Basic English as a minimum.
