Safer and Stronger Project Officer

SO1/2:  £25,951 - £30,153 pa

1 x 37 hours per week

Temporary for 2 years

Based within the Safer and Stronger Communities team within the City Centre, although will be expected to work across Bradford District.

 

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic, confident and passionate Project Officer to join the Safer and Stronger communities’ partnership and teams. The Partnerships role is to help co-ordinate action to create a Safer, Stronger and more resilient Bradford district. 

The key aims of the post are:

 

To undertake project-based delivery work for time-limited periods which meet the priorities of the Safer & Stronger Communities Plan and the priorities in the West Yorkshire Police and Crime Plan.

 

To establish and maintain good working relationships with partner agencies in order to assist with the early intervention and prevention of a range of crimes (eg anti-social behaviour and street-based harassment).

 

To develop a network of volunteers to co-ordinate community input to the delivery of outcomes and to championing the ‘People Can, make a difference’ approach.

 

To help address the City Centre anti-social behaviour issues through enforcement of the Bradford City Centre Public Spaces Protection Order and other interventions.

 

We are looking for someone with commitment and drive and:

 

NVQ 4 or equivalent and at least 2 years’ experience of partnership working with all relevant statutory sector agencies (especially the Local Authority, health and criminal justice agencies) voluntary and community sector and at all levels

 

or

 

4 years’ experience of working in and with complex partnerships with relevant statutory agencies and the voluntary and community sector.
