Female Housing Support Worker (Arabic Speaking)

Salary: Scale 5-6, SCP 22-28, £10,228 - £12,359 per annum,

18.5 hours per week

Fixed term 12 -18 months depending upon the frequency of arrivals

 

We wish to appoint a female support worker to support Syrian families welcomed into Calderdale under the Vulnerable Person’s Re-Settlement Scheme.

 

The person appointed will help the families move into and settle in their new home and community.

 

 She will work particularly with the women in the households to identify opportunities for socialisation, education and training and will be a listening ear for their personal concerns.

 

The successful applicant must be fluent in Arabic (both spoken and written), have a full UK driving licence and the use of a vehicle for work purposes.

 

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.

 

Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS (formerly CRB) from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed.
