Marketing and Business Development Officer

Supporting growing businesses in Leeds City Region to expand, innovate and create new jobs is at the heart of our long-term plan to transform our region’s economy. Our Business Growth team has helped more than 5,000 businesses grow over the past four years by providing grant funding and support in areas such as business expansion, apprenticeships, international trade and skills development. It has now secured funding from central government to take this to 20,000 businesses by 2021.
The Role
Working within the Communications and Marketing team, the Marketing and Business Development Officer will play a critical role in achieving WYCA’s business growth objectives by delivering campaigns and projects to promote a coherent business support offer to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the region, and managing strategic relationships with public and private sector partners to develop and strengthen this offer.
The successful candidate will be experienced in:-
· Delivering proactive integrated marketing campaigns and communications activities aimed at inspiring SMEs to explore new growth opportunities and promoting WYCA as a single contact point for impartial information about relevant support
· Building and managing relationships with stakeholders including local authorities, universities, central government bodies and private sector firms to strengthen the SME support offer through sponsorship or in-kind support
· Producing high quality online and off-line collateral and content using the full range of channels
· Developing customer insight and championing the needs of SMEs in the design and development of new business support products
You will also have the ability to manage multiple projects and to quickly establish positive relationships with local partners and stakeholders at all levels. A strong commercial focus and experience of working in a fast-paced, private sector client driven environment is key to this role.
