OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN

Band SO2/PO1:  £28,485 - £31,601 pa (Pro rata for Part Time Posts)

1 x 30 hours per week

Based at City Hall, within Bradford City Centre

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Occupational Health Technician to join the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council’s Occupational Health Service. 

 

As an Occupational Health Technician within this team, you will assist in the delivery of a comprehensive Employee Health and Wellbeing Service to employees of the Council, Bradford Schools and External Customers under contract, which will include:

 

  • Co-ordinating and carrying out a range of health surveillance programmes
  • Undertaking DSE assessments for staff and advising on appropriate adjustments or equipment
  • Managing and co-ordinating immunisation clinics
  • Following up incidents of staff potentially exposed to blood borne viruses
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of the Councils Wellbeing Agenda
  • Advising managers and employees on Health, Safety and Equality legislation
  • Building excellent working relationships with clients, managers and external customers.

 

To apply for this post you must have 3 years experience of working in occupational health and hold a Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health or be able to demonstrate an equivalent skill level.  Please refer to the Job Profile for qualifications and experience required.
