HIGHWAYS LIAISON ASSISTANT SECONDMENT OPPORTUNITY

Grade G SP1-4 £20,367 - £23,582 per annum

Based in Leeds City Centre

 

The Highways Liaison team within West Yorkshire Combined Authority coordinate with highways authorities, event organisers, contractors and bus operators for road closures, special events, road works and emergency road closures throughout West Yorkshire. The team also undertake site visits for new, relocated and cascaded infrastructure including following up enquiries from MPs, Councillors, bus operators, developers and members of the public.

 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual who can react promptly and decisively to events taking place on the highway and to coordinate clear concise customer information relating to bus route diversions. The post holder will be required to attend site visits and deal with customer enquiries in a fast moving environment.

 

You will have good geographical knowledge, an understanding of the bus industry and be able to communicate effectively face to face, by phone and via letter/e mail and be able to liaise with other departments within WYCA regarding street furniture changes.

 

The secondment is for a minimum 3 month period.
