The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

This is a key post within the Education Safeguarding Team.  We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic manager to be the strategic lead and organisational expert within the Council on issues relating to Newly Arriving Communities to the District, families from Traveller backgrounds and Inclusion issues.

 

As an experienced professional you will be able to evidence a successful track record with demonstrable outcomes and achievements.  The post holder will have strategic responsibility for leading on the Governments Vulnerable Person’s Relocation Scheme and Gateway Refugee Programme.

 

You will:

 

  • Develop and lead the Education Service for New Communities and Travellers;
  • Provide high level specialist support, challenge, guidance and direction on the curriculum of Bradford schools that will promote race equality and community cohesion across the District;
  • Work in conjunction with the Strategic Manager in reducing the number of Children Missing in Education cases;
  • Strategically lead and manage the needs of Elective Home Education and the wider implications this area of work can bring;
  • Implement strategies to improve attendance;
  • Have responsibility for setting strategic objectives, developing policies and delivering KPIs to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people
