WASTE DISPOSAL LABOURER/OPERATORS
Band 4/5: SCP 10/17 £7.90 to £9.10 (To be paid at Time ½ and Double time
dependant on undertaking and passing course for the safe operating of compacting equipment to CITB standard)
4 x Part- Time Established Posts
3 posts at 7½ hours Saturday & 6½ hours Sunday Only
One post at 4.5 hours Saturday & 6.5 hours Sunday
Based at Household Waste Recycling Centres across the District
Applicants are invited for the positions below:
Pool staff to cover for holidays at any of our 8 household waste recycling centres.
The prime objective of the post is to be responsible both individually and as a team, for the safe operation of a waste disposal location, including associated plant and machinery at Transfer Stations and /or Household waste recycling centres. To operate and maintain large items of plant i.e. wheeled loading shovels, compaction equipment and 360 excavators.
The successful candidate will work where appropriate as a member of a team engaged in ensuring that the public can deposit their waste and receive help and advice in recycling their waste so as to help Bradford MDC meet government recycling targets and to meet operational targets agreed by management.
You will:

Have a minimum of 1 year's experience of manual work regarding the handling of weight, lifting and walking long distances.

Have good literacy and numeracy skills in order to complete paper work and plant defect sheets.

A driving licence would be desirable but is not essential.

A CITB certificate (or similar certificate) would be desirable but is not essential as training will be given.
Due to concerns regarding the working time and health and safety issues, only applicants who currently work 27 hours or less will be considered for these posts.
