A new position has been created in Bradford Safeguarding Children Board.

 

Bradford Safeguarding Children Board (BSCB) has been in existence for 10 years and has developed a strong reputation for supporting and holding to account the agencies that support children and families in the District. In 2014, BSCB received a “good” rating when evaluated by OFSTED. BSCB is working to further to develop its audit and performance management arrangements and to strengthen its strategic work with other key partnerships and organisations.

 

We offer a comprehensive package of training, development and support for managers.

 

We are looking to appoint a colleague with child protection and management experience who can build on these achievements and help shape and improve service provision and outcomes for children, young people and their families.

 

The post holder will assist with the conduct of statutory and local case reviews, promote a culture of professional scrutiny and challenge within BSCB and lead and coordinate effective partnership preparations for safeguarding inspections. The post holder will manage the BSCB Performance and Information Officer to deliver a regular programme of organisational and case audit involving all partners.

 

The successful candidate will:

 

  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience in children’s work, a minimum of 2 of which have been in a management position.
  • Have experience of providing professional supervision or consultancy including in relation to child safeguarding issues.
  • Hold a professional qualification (CQSW, CSS, Dip SW, RMN, RHV, RGN, Qualified solicitor or equivalent.
  • Hold a current driving licence (unless a disability prevents this).
  • Have experience of working with service users from minority ethnic groups.
  • Be able to work on own initiative.
  • Have specialist knowledge of safeguarding children legislation.
  • Have good leadership skills.
  • Be committed to delivering high quality services
  • Have experience of using performance indicators, performance management frameworks and quality assurance and audit programmes to improve quality in public services
  • Be a confident and clear communicator with the public, colleagues and strategic leaders.
  • Be committed to ensuring that the experiences of Bradford children help to shape services.
