School Crossing Patrol

Band 2: £7.52 - £7.58 per week

A  living wage supplement is payable in addition to the salary quoted to bring the rate of pay up to the equivalent of £7.85 per hour for hours up to 10 per week.

2 x 10 hours per week

Established Term Time Only

Based at: BD9 and BD21

There are 2 work locations available across the Bradford Metropolitan District Council area.  

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile is shown in this advert oultines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

School Crossing Patrols provide a safe crossing point for parents, children and members of the public by exercising competent judgement to stop road traffic within safe distances and give authority to cross the road.  Patrols work within set working procedures taking personal responsibility for own safety and that of others, reporting incidents and concerns about the operation of the site.

 

They must:

 

  • Have an understanding and appreciation of basic road safety and have good sight and hearing with or without the aid of spectacles or hearing aid.

  • Be able to stand and walk for entire working period including getting on and off the road briskly and carrying the required equipment.

  • Be able to work outside, unsupervised and in all weathers and to use their own initiative.

    Build and maintain effective customer relations.

  • Complete administrative work with accuracy and attention to detail if and when required.
