Sensory Service SEN Officer

Band 7:  £20,138 - £22,658 pa (Pro-Rata for Term Time Only)

1 x 32.5 hours per week, Term time only - 39 weeks

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, working across Hanson, Swain House and Girlington ARC’s (Additionally Resourced Centres) for children with sensory impairment

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

An opportunity has arisen to join the Sensory Service, to be responsible for the management and organisation of the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Annual Review and EHC Plan processes for all ARC pupils across the Service. This is in line with the statutory process for children and young people with SEN.

 

The post involves organising Annual Review meetings, and other pupil related meetings, liaising with ARC staff and parents. You will organise, minute and produce the final reports for the review meetings, and then liaise with the central SEN team in MMT.

 

You will also assist the Head and Assistant Head of the Sensory Service with data and monitoring of pupil progress information, as required.

 

You will be based at Margaret McMillan Tower, but will work flexibly across the ARC settings. You will need to be able to travel independently across the district.

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and very well organised individual, with demonstrable skills in MS Office, and data management. Ideally, you will have some experience of working in school or educational settings, and will have some experience and knowledge of SEN processes.
