SOCIAL WORKERS

 

Various Established and Temporary Social Worker posts available within Bradford Council’s Children’s Social Services

 

Our salaries are very competitive and we offer the following rates of pay (Pro Rata For Part Time Posts). 

       

  • Newly Qualified Social Workers (Assisted and Supported Year in Employment ASYE): £23,166 to £25,694 pa

  • Social Worker (SWL2): £24,717 to £29,033 pa

  • Experienced Social Worker (SWL3):  £28,203 to £33,106 pa

  • Advanced Practitioner: £34,196 to £35,093 pa (Must have Post Graduate Diploma in Child Welfare & Safeguarding)

Do you meet the following?

  • Hold a DIPSW or equivalent qualification and are registered with the HCPC as a qualified social worker.

  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work (unless a disability prevents this).

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.

  • Possess excellent Innovation skills to join us on our journey to excellence.

  • Have demonstrated a  commitment to anti-oppressive practice and to the Departments equal opportunities policy.

  • Have the ability to work within and contribute to a team.

  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.

  • Have confident IT skills, and be able to navigate an electronic file system.

  • Have the ability to write clear, concise robust reports. 

  •  Have a flexible approach when need arises.

Due to the size of the Bradford District we have social work teams based centrally at Sir Henry Mitchell House and Margaret Macmillan Towers in Bradford City Centre, as well as teams located in Keighley, Odsal and the Shipley area.  

 

Please note, the service areas outlined below are always included in our social work recruitment but we cannot guarantee there would be a vacancy in all of these areas. If you are successful for interview, we will specify which vacancies we have at that time and which service area.

 

  • Child and Family Teams - Supporting and safeguarding children and young people 0-18 within the remits of Child In Need/child protection and care proceedings.
  • Integrated Assessment Teams - This is the first response team to the public and professionals when there are concerns about a child.
  • Looked after Children’s Teams - Supporting children and young people who are looked after, ensuring they have an effective plan of care.
  • Children’s Complex Health or Disability Teams - Working with children who have additional health or disability needs, ensuring their needs are met.
  • The Leaving Care Team’s assist looked after young people through the process of Leaving Care and provide aftercare advice, support and financial assistance.
