The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

Bradford Children’s Specialist Services are recruiting to social work posts based in Emergency Duty Team Bradford.

 

Bradford is a diverse, vibrant city with a large young population. Children’s and Adults Services in Bradford are proud of the work we are doing to improve outcomes for the most vulnerable children and adults in the district, but recognise we have a lot to do and we want the best people to work with us; people who have the needs of the children and adults of Bradford at the heart of their social work practice. 

 

We are looking to recruit experienced, knowledgeable Social Workers to our Emergency Duty Team. We have a strong committed team that we want to add to.

  

Emergency Duty Team is a generic social work team that provide an out of hours service across the district. They cover Children’s, Adults, Mental Health, Elderly, Learning Ddifficulties and any concerns that the public may have re the client group. They respond to day time services emergencies that require support to provide a wraparound service. They liaise closely with Police, Accident and Emergency and First Response to co-ordinate an appropriate, coordinated supportive response to all client groups. 

 

To work for us you must have:

  •  A DIPSW or an equivalent qualification and be registered with the HCPC as a qualified worker
  • Be an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP) – or be willing to train as an AMHP
  • 3 years post qualifying experience
  • A full driving licence and car available for work (unless a disability prevents this)
  • The ability to asses the needs of children and families and develop care plans to meet these needs
  • Good communication skills including the ability to build meaningful relationships with children and adults
  • Strong ability to work ell on own initiative and contribute to service development
  • A commitment to anti-oppressive practice and to the departments Equal Opportunities policy
  • The ability to work as part of a team
  • Knowledge of out of ours service needs, including working in a multi-cultural City
  • Excellent IT skills, able to navigate various electronic work systems, good communication both written and verbal including excellent report writing skills
  • Be willing to work unsocial hours
