INTENSIVE FAMILY SUPPORT WORKER

Band 6:  £17,772 -  £20,138 pa (Pro rata for Part Time Posts)

1 x 30 hours per week

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile is shown in this advert oultines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

 

The role of the Intensive family support worker is to provide support services to families assessed as in need that are living across the Bradford district.

 

  • This involves lone working in the homes of families
  • To work within the legal framework, policies and procedures relevant to the service
  • To develop and deliver a preventative service and maintain and improve the quality of care provided both inside and outside the family group using evidence based practice such as Family group conferencing, Outcome star and parenting programmes
  • You will act as a key  worker  to families, addressing whole family needs and have an understanding of the importance of  a multi agency working

 

You will need:

 

  • Knowledge of child development at all ages and the issues which present barriers to positive outcomes for children.
  • Knowledge of how to build professional relationships with adults and children of all ages which empowers and facilitates change.
  • Ability to communicate in a variety of ways including attending and chairing meetings, writing reports, using ICT systems and engaging families in making their own plans.
  • Good analytical and assessment skills that informs planning.
  • You will be able to work independently using own initiative and decision making within the scope of the role.
  • Diploma or NVQ 3 in health and social care or equivalent health and social care qualification.
  • This post involves some early morning, evening and weekend work as required by the needs of the service.
