Band 5/6  

 

Age 16/17 -  Year 1 - £ 9,070 pa - Year 2 - £ 14,263 pa (pro rata)

Age 18 +  -   Year 1 - £ 13,192 pa - Year 2 - £ 15,941 pa (pro rata)

 

1 x 22.5 hours per week

Based at Britannia House, Bradford City Centre

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.  

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

The Department of Corporate Services would like to recruit an Apprentice who is enthusiastic, competent and flexible.

 

The main purpose of the role is to assist in the provision of an accurate and efficient timesheet processing service on behalf of Council Departments and casual staff, ensuring an effective and responsive service, whilst adhering to strict deadlines. 

 

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications of the role by the end of the training programme.

 

We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking an Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

 

To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have GCSE Maths and English at Grades A-C or a minimum of Level 1 or above in Maths and English.  (An assessment will take place before the interview stage).

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment, training and the range of job activities within where it is possible for you to complete your full apprenticeship. 

The following special knowledge apply to this post:- 

  • Uses knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and regulations including risks in own area of work

  • Uses a range of IT packages relating to the area of work, including Word and Excel

  • Ability to adopt a process of continual improvement and suggest ways of working more efficiently and effectively to improve service delivery

  • Able to use, interpret, hand and communicate large volumes of often complex and detailed information, and relay it to customers in writing and/or over the telephone/face to face

  • Able to demonstrate a high level of numeracy, literacy and accuracy across a range of activities

  • Carries out a variety of working practices, applies complex regulations, rules, procedures and processes across a technical/specialist area

  • Ability to interpret employee pay and conditions of employment to calculate additional allowances as per the differing schemes/procedures

  • Provide advice and guidance to employees and managers in regard to pay and be able to explain their personal allowances/standard pay etc. as per their contract and timesheet information provided
