CCAG Programme Assistant (6 months secondment opportunity)

Grade H SP1-4 £22,991 - £26,621 per annum

Based in Leeds City Centre

 

We are looking to recruit a Programme Assistant for the Cycle City Ambition Grant Programme (CityConnect), on a six month secondment basis to cover secondment by the substantive post holder.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA), working closely with the five Local Authorities across West Yorkshire have secured funding of over £40 million from the Department for Transport’s Cycle City Ambition Grant Fund to improve cycle infrastructure across the region and enable more people to cycle more often. Phase one of the scheme, including the superhighway connecting Leeds and Bradford and the resurfacing of much of the Canal Towpath between Kirkstall and Shipley, has been completed and phase two is in the nearing the end of public consultation with construction planned for completion in 2018.

The successful candidate will support the management and delivery of activities relating to the implementation of the Cycle City Ambition Grant (CCAG) Programme, known as CityConnect. Reporting to the CCAG Programme Manager within the Delivery Directorate, the role involves; the Co-ordination and administration of the Programme board and Programme Advisory group, through liaison with district project representatives and stakeholders; providing technical input and support to the programme and projects; ensuring that WYCA Project and programme management procedures and processes are followed, as well as undertaking budget administration tasks for the programme.

Ideally, you will have performed a similar role previously and have an understanding of project and programme management processes, delivery of infrastructure and transport projects as well as having good working relationships with districts and other partners.
