Assistant Unit Catering Manager (72932)

1 x 25 Hours per week
Based at St Johns CE Primary School, Dawson Lane, Bradford, BD4 6JF

 

Band 3A SCP 8-9     £7.89 - £7.95 per hour

 

An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for an Assistant Unit Manager to join the team at the above site.

 

You will assist the Unit Manager in the smooth running of the kitchen, ensuring effective instruction and deployment of staff in their duties takes place, also performing varied hands-on duties.

 

The following qualifications are desirable or essential for this post:-

Desirable -    NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent i.e. City & Guilds 706/1 & 2
                        ‘Successful candidate will be expected to complete NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation or equivalent
                        
 within 2 years of commencing employment’.

Essential -    Intermediate Food Hygiene

From October 2016 Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking.  This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants and council employees.  This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen and understand Basic English as a minimum.
