Bradford is the 4th largest Local Authority with a population of 530,000 of which 150,000 are children and young people, making us one of the key cities with a young age group population.

To ensure we achieve even better outcomes for children and young people, we are on a journey to excellence; ensuring children are at the heart of everything we do. We are and continue to embed solution focused practice; we are adopting the signs of safety model with key partners across the district within our work with families. We are also working towards embedding a clear model of care for the children and young people we look after.

Bradford is a dynamic and forward thinking council which is currently reviewing how it delivers its services, our aim in partnership with the Children’s Trust is:

'For every one of our children to have the best possible start in life'

In order to meet our vision, we aspire to develop a workforce that adopt a therapeutic attitude, are supported, motivated, aspirational and highly skilled, who have the best interests of the children at the heart of everything they do.

There has never been a more exciting time to work for Bradford Residential Services. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead one of our children’s homes as the Registered Manager.

We are revising our provision to reduce the size of the homes and create three specialist care home hubs which will be closely linked to the fostering service, CAMHS, the Youth Service, the Virtual School and the Police.  By building integrated support on site we feel that more young people can remain in the district and achieve better long term outcomes.

We have invested in re training our workforce focusing on embedding a signs of safety approach and establishing PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy) as the means of communicating with our young people. This is an approach or a way of thinking, feeling, communicating and behaving that aims to enable the child to feel safe.
