Band:  PO3-PO6:  £33,437 - £43,821 pa   (Pro rata for part time posts) Career Graded Post

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile shown outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

We are looking for a Lawyer/Senior Lawyer, to work primarily in the field of adult social care, and with the ability to manage a full caseload, undertake advocacy and advise on a wide range of adult social care matters. You should be familiar with relevant legal provisions including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Mental Health Act 1983. The work is sensitive, confidential and often complex and emotionally demanding in nature. You should be able to act under pressure in the face of competing demands and be able to interpret and communicate information effectively, use a range of complex IT packages and work to tight deadlines. The role also involves providing supervision and support to more junior staff.

 

You will be a solicitor entitled to practice in England and holding a current practising certificate, a barrister entitled to practice in England and holding a current practising certificate or a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
