FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTORS VACANCIES (WYFS 48)

 

2 x Enforcement posts - Peripatetic Working across the West Yorkshire Area

1 x Planning post – Based at our Service Delivery Centre, Bramley

Grade 6/8 dependent upon experience

£21,268 - £27,668 per annum

 

 

The post holders will be responsible for assisting the Authority in the discharge of its fire protection duties and responsibilities in the West Yorkshire region.  

 

The Enforcement posts will involve audits of commercial premises within the region to ensure compliance with current legislation.  The Planning post will involve carrying out statutory fire protection consultations for licensing and building works being proposed within the region.

 

You will need either:-  

      

  • a recognized qualification in science/engineering discipline at a minimum of HNC/HND level or

  • have completed modules A and B of the Specialist Fire Safety Course or

  • achieved NVQ 3 in Legislative Fire Safety or NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety or

  • Successfully completed the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue development workbook to Inspector level.

 

The annual salary will be dependent on the applicant’s training, experience, knowledge and other qualities when compared against the person specifications (either Grade 6 or Grade 8).  Necessary in house training/experience etc. will be provided to enable the successful candidate to achieve the Grade 8 salary.

 

You should have the ability to work flexibly with minimum supervision to meet priorities and be an innovative thinker in relation to fire protection based issues. Postholders must possess a full valid driving licence.
