Bradford Theatres (St George’s Concert Hall and Alhambra Theatre & The Studio)
Bradford Theatres are looking to recruit a self-motivated and enthusiastic Deputy Stage Manager to join our busy Technical Department. The successful candidate will work across all three of our prestigious venues, St George’s Concert Hall, The Alhambra Theatre and The Studio. However the post is primarily based at St Georges Concert Hall, having the day to day responsibility for overseeing & managing events at the Hall.
St George’s Concert Hall is a 1574 seated /1872 standing venue and is one of the best acoustic concert venues around hosting a varied programme ranging from an international orchestral season, rock concerts to children’s shows and comedy seasons. The Hall is presently undergoing a £5. 2million refurbishment and is due to open mid 2018
The Alhambra Theatre is a 1450 seated venue, and highly recognised nationally as one of the largest professional receiving venues, playing host to a wide variety of shows, ranging from drama, opera, ballet, international dance, West End musicals and of course the traditional pantomime.
The Studio Theatre is a versatile performance / rehearsal venue presenting a varied programme for small-scale theatre productions, rehearsals, exhibitions and meetings.
For the post of Deputy Stage Manager you must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience of carrying out all duties relating to all Stage equipment including maintenance of the orchestra pit, Stage and Single purchase counter weight system, some fault finding and other backstage work within a large Concert Hall and Theatre environment.
Candidates must be prepared to work long and usually unsociable hours including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays (also maybe work over the 48 hours a week, but will receive time in lieu) and must be able to perform all duties and tasks with reasonable adjustment where appropriate, in accordance with the provisions of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995).
