Age 16/17 -  Year 1 - £   9,775 pa - Year 2 - £ 15,380 pa (pro rata)

Age 18 +  -   Year 1 - £ 14,218 pa - Year 2 - £ 17,167 pa (pro rata)

 

1 x 37 hours per week

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

Bradford Council is looking to recruit an Apprentice Finance Officer who is motivated, enthusiastic, competent and flexible to undertake an Apprenticeship Scheme for 24 months.  The post holder will provide financial advice focusing in particular on financial accounting and financial planning for both revenue and capital as well as undertaking detailed pieces of accountancy work and to support and advise services in achieving their objectives.

 

To support the Finance Team in the delivery of an excellent service to customers, communicating in an informed confident, polite and understanding manner with all clients and customers.

 

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications of the role by the end of the training programme.

 

We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Level 2 in Accounting (AAT).

 

To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have GCSE Maths and English at Grades A-C or a minimum of Entry Level 3 or above in Maths and English.  (An assessment will take place before the interview stage)

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment, training and the range of job activities within where it is possible for you to complete your full apprenticeship.

  • Able to use, interpret, analyse and communicate complex numerical information
  • Understanding of how financial services contribute to effective service delivery
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of producing written reports and questioning skills
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of logical thinking and able to problem solve
  • Ability to use a range of financial systems and applications
  • Demonstrates a high level of numeracy, literacy and accuracy across a range of activities
  • Able to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with all colleagues and end users
  • Ability to use spread-sheet and word-processing packages
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of spread-sheet models or manipulating data extracts
