ISP SERVICE OPERATIONS

Band 6 - PO3:   £17,772 pa - £36,379 pa  

1 x 37 hours per week

Based at 6th Floor, Britannia House

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

The IT service requires 1 staff member to undertake the delivery of duties within the ISP Service Operations team. The team provide end user and infrastructure support to ensure the department meets and exceeds agreed service levels to its users. You will develop innovative solutions to solve business problems and identify opportunities to drive efficiencies across the Council in addition to providing excellent customer service.

 

It would be an essential requirement to have use of a car and be insured for business use for which mileage will be payable.

 

You will need to be able to undertake lifting and handling of heavy IT equipment such as PCs, Monitors, Switches and Routers

 

Key Technical Skills are:

 

  • Operational understanding and experience of managing switchboards, digital and analogue telephony infrastructure
  • Full working knowledge and experience of managing VOIP, Call Centre, ACD programming, Call routing, Voicemail, Call Logging, Call Recording
  • Experience of managing office setups/relocations requiring telephony and data infrastructure survey, design and implementation
  • Support and configure network devices, e.g. hubs, switches, routers, firewall, cable /ADSL modems, wireless access points
  • Full working knowledge and experience of managing routed network, subnets, LAN’s, WAN’s, VLAN’s, monitor network traffic and troubleshooting bandwidth issues
  • Desktop Support: End user support
  • Desktop Hardware installation and Software Installation
  • Operational understanding and experience of networking: TCP/IP, Patching, Broadband, Wireless, PCs, Printers
  • Full working knowledge, ability to support and troubleshoot Client OS - Windows XP, 7 e.g. Microsoft Office 2003, 2007, 2010
  • Support and troubleshoot remote access: SSL VPN, 2 Factor Authentication – Managing and resolving token issues
  • Service Management: Use of ITSM tools e.g. Cherwell, BMC Remedy, LANDesk
  • Working to SLA’s & Knowledge of ITIL
