Financial Assessment and Welfare Benefits Officer

Band 7-8:  £19,939 - £24,717 pa

2 x 37 hours per week

Temporary for 12 months

Based at 5th Floor Britannia House

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore it is essential that you provide examples in your application.


Bradford Adult Social Care is moving to a new Contributions policy for service users accessing non residential services.

We are recruiting to these posts as we need to financially reassess all existing service users under the new policy.

 

The posts will undertake the financial assessment for service existing service users receiving services in the community to determine the appropriate contribution under The Care and Support (Charging and Assessment of Resources) Regulations 2014 and provide Welfare Benefit advice service for service users and assist with applications for benefits where appropriate.

 

The successful applicant will need the following:

 
  • 5 GCSE (grades A-C) to include Maths and English or equivalent NVQ and 2 years experience in a relevant field.

  • Experience in the financial assessment and welfare benefits field.

  • Experience of keeping detailed records.

  • Experience of dealing with older people and people with disabilities and their carers.
