Based - Bradford

 

Due to funding these opportunities are only aimed at those who are aged 16 – 23 and live in the Bradford District.

The Council particularly welcomes applications from people with a disability.

 

 

Bradford Council is looking for 2 motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Administrators to undertake an Apprenticeship scheme for 13 months.  The main duties of the role will be to provide a wide range of administrative functions across HR.

 

We are looking for individuals who are committed to undertaking an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

 

To qualify for the apprenticeship you must have Entry Level 3 or above in Maths and English and not already qualified at Level 2 in the Business Administration/Customer Service.  (An assessment will take place before the interview stage).

 

Those that are already qualified to a degree level are not eligible to apply.

 

The apprentice will follow a programme of training relating to the role and achieve the appropriate skills, competencies and qualifications by the end of the training programme. 

Bradford Council will provide you with sufficient time, the working environment and a range of job activities to enable you to complete your apprenticeship.

The following skill competencies apply to this post:-

 

  • Following instructions with a methodical approach

  • Take part in on going training in order to show continuing skills development

  • Have a responsible approach towards learning new skills

  • Update own technical knowledge to provide the most efficient service delivery

  • Must be accurate and able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills

  • Able to operate a range of office equipment e.g. telephone, photocopier, fax etc

  • Able to implement, maintain and manage accurate information retention systems both manual and computerised

  • Able to effectively use key IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Able to deal with internal and external customers both face to face and over the telephone

  • Completes clerical and administrative work with accuracy and attention to detail

As this is an Intermediate Apprenticeship opportunity successful applicants at the selection stage will be assessed first on numeracy/literacy skills.  Only successful applicants from the assessment centre process will be invited to interview.

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
