£7.76 per hour

Casual (hours to be worked as and when required)

(in addition you will receive a Living Wage Supplement making the hourly rate £7.85 per hour)

Based at St James’s Wholesale Market, Essex Street, Bradford BD4 7PN.

 

An opportunity has arisen for a Market Attendant to be employed on a casual basis at St James’s Wholesale Market.

 

You will be required to carry out cleaning duties individually or as part of a team, in accordance with the Markets Service  Quality Procedures, and work instructions, using appropriate machinery. This includes the separation of recyclable and non-recyclable waste generated on site, the collection and baling of plastic waste, cardboard waste and wood waste as well as separating the organic waste from the general waste stream.

 

You will ensure that the market is in a safe, hygienic condition by dealing with hazards such as spillages and advise the Market Superintendent of incidents/practices and procedures which could lead to breaches of Market Regulations, HASAWA Legislation and Market Byelaws. You will also hold a valid fork lift licence.

 

The job primarily involves working outdoors, with occasional physical effort such as lifting and carrying.
