EXPERIENCED SOCIAL WORKER - CONNECTED PERSON'S ASSESSMENT TEAM (FOSTERING)
1 x 37 hours per week

Our salaries are very competitive and we offer the following rates of pay (Pro Rata For Part Time Posts).

 

Experienced Social Worker (SWL3): £28,203 to £33,106 pa

Advanced Practitioner: £34,196 to £35,093 pa (Must have Post Graduate Diploma in Child Welfare & Safeguarding)

Do you meet the following?

 

  • Hold a DIPSW or equivalent qualification and are registered with the HCPC as a qualified social worker.

  • Have a full driving licence and car available for work (unless a disability prevents this).

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to make good decisions based on the information available, ensuring effective relationships with other professionals.

  • Possess excellent Innovation skills to join us on our journey to excellence.

  • Have demonstrated a commitment to anti-oppressive practice and to the Departments equal opportunities policy.

  • Have the ability to work within and contribute to a team.

  • Possess knowledge of service needs for ethnic minority communities.

  • Have confident IT skills, and be able to navigate an electronic file system.

  • Have the ability to write clear, concise robust reports.

  • Have a flexible approach when need arises.

The successful applicants must be able to meet the following key competencies

 

  • Uses knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and regulations including risks in own area of Work i.e. Social work practice

  • Uses a range of complex IT packages relating to area of work i.e. Social work practice

  • Ability to adopt a process of continual improvement and suggest ways of working more efficient and effectively to improve service delivery

  • Knows and understands how to use, interpret, handle and communicate information

  • Operate effectively within multi-agency and inter-professional partnerships and settings, working within the organisations remit, including building your own network and collaborative working (PCF 8)

  • Understand forms of harm and their impact on people, and the implications for practice, drawing on concepts of strength, resilience, vulnerability, risk and resistance, and apply to practice  (PCF 5)

  • Recognise diversity and apply anti discriminatory and anti oppressive principles in practice, recognising discriminatory practices and develop approaches to appropriately challenge service users, colleagues or senior staff  (PCF 3)

  • Be able to record accurate information, and write records and reports using electronic recording system including recording of analysis and judgements (ICS) and use of other recording systems. (PCF 7)

  • Take responsibility for obtaining regular effective supervision, identify and act on own learning needs through CPD, and manage workload independently seeking support and suggesting solutions.  (PCF1)

  • Be able to recognise the requirements of professional accountability and information sharing and understand and apply social work ethical principles and legislation (PCF 2)
