Cellar Supervisor

Band 4  £15,238 - £15,823 pa

1 x 37 Hours per week

Based at Alhambra Theatre

Established

Bradford Theatres has a vacancy opportunity for a Bars and Cellar Supervisor to work with the bars, catering and events management team working across three venues – Alhambra Theatre, Alhambra Studio and St George’s Concert Hall in the centre of Bradford.

You will need a minimum of 12 months working experience of cellar management and experience of at least 12 months of a busy multiple bar operation, or a large entertainment venue with a significant annual income / turnover.

The working week will normally be 5 days a week between Monday to Sunday with 2 rest days within this period, however at busier periods additional hours may be required and this time is given back as lieu time (TOIL). Evening and Bank Holiday work is expected as is on occasion you may be asked to work at the Kings Hall – Winter Garden Ilkley (our fourth venue). Some days may not be a standard 7.5 hr day; however this will be compensated for within the week.

You will need to be enthusiastic, physically fit and be able to work within the role providing the highest standards of customer care and also dealing with large volumes of stock and equipment.  You must have an understanding of Health & Safety legislation relating to cellar and bar work and knowledge of basic maintenance related to bars and cellars.

You need to actively lead and manage (with guidance and supervision from a bars and catering manager)  in the day to day running of the Cellar and Bars across multiple sites and multiple service outlets within the venues to ensure all areas of the bar and cellar are stocked to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

The successful candidate needs to have a good “hands on” working knowledge of cellar management and stock control systems and be able to carry out line cleans and provide statistical information on a weekly basis to managers relating to stock counts / stock deliveries.

The post is physically demanding and the majority of the work (85%) is manual and requires concentration and accuracy.  There is a large element of the work that is unsupervised and you need good time management skills, equally there are times when you will be working to support the bars teams during service.

To put the role in to prospective revenue on bars at the Alhambra alone is circa £1 million. The work generated from such a large and busy venue demands a candidate that is calm under pressure, is methodical in thinking and has an analytical mind to problem solve with forward thinking and planning skills.

If you think you have the required skill set, experience, dedication and resolve and want to work in one of the most prestigious entertainment venues in the north of England, please contact Chris Peel on 01274 431 052 or email chris.peel@bradford.gov.uk
