Are you prepared to share your home and life with someone who has support needs?

The Shared Lives Scheme is looking to recruit more people with specific skills and experience across the District. Shared Lives is a community based service that matches adults with support needs to Shared Lives carers who provide help and accommodation. In return, Shared Lives carers receive a regular payment and assistance from the Shared Lives Scheme to ensure that the match is maintained.

We are looking for people who can offer anything from some daytime support to planned short breaks on a regular basis to full time arrangements.

You need to have some experience working with vulnerable people such as mental health issues, learning disabilities or dementia.

You will need a spare room if you want to have people to stay overnight with you. Everyone has a full assessment and must agree to have an enhanced DBS check. Shared Lives carers are self employed.
