Social Worker- Adoption Support

Social Worker L2 – L3  SCP 28-38 £24,717 pa - £33,106 pa

1 x 37 hours per week

Temporary up to 12 months

Based at Adoption Service, Sir Henry Mitchell House

 

 

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and qualified social worker, preferably with experience of adoption to join our busy adoption support team to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months.

You will need a child centered approach, good assessment skills, life work skills and a knowledge of the needs of children who have left their birth families as a result of abuse or neglect and the impact of early trauma. An ability to work to deadlines and manage a caseload are essential.


The role involves:

      

  • Giving advice and information on adoption support services to people affected by adoption and special guardianship.

  • Acting as a single point of contact for SGO families, adoptive families, adopted adults, birth relatives and professionals on matters relating to adoption support services.

  • Having a mixed workload of individual and family work and group work as well as taking part in the duty service.

  • Delivering and monitoring adoption support plans as required.

  • Delivering good quality life work to children and young people.

  • Contributing to the development and provision of a comprehensive adoption support service.

  • Complying with adoption legislation, guidance, national minimum standards and departmental policies.

The successful candidate will possess a Diploma in social work or equivalent, have completed their ASYE/level 1 and be Registered as a Social Worker with the HCPC.
