Council Wardens

If so, this could be a fantastic job for you!

We are looking to recruit Council Wardens who want to make a difference to the community and environment. As a Council Warden you will be patrolling the streets and acting as an ambassador for the Council and as a first point of contact for citizens. You will be responsible for issuing tickets for parking contraventions and for littering and dog fouling. You will be expected to work with residents, businesses, community groups, schools and other partners to encourage people to take more responsibility for the neighbourhood that they live in. This could include supporting a group of residents to organise a community clean-up, undertaking educational work with school children and businesses and organising fun days or other events.

We are seeking to recruit energetic people who have:

• Good communication skills and an approachable and friendly manner;
• A positive ‘can do’ approach;
• Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team;
• The literacy skills to issue tickets for civil and environmental offences and to complete the relevant documentation, however no formal qualifications are required. 

Candidates will be required to work some unsocial hours and expected to be out and about patrolling the streets in all weathers.

We are particularly keen to receive applications from people who are fluent in the Eastern European or Asian languages spoken in our district.
