STREET CLEANSING OPERATIVES

Band 2:  £7.52 - £7.58 per hour

(A Living Wage supplement is payable in addition to the salary quoted to bring the rate of pay up to the equivalent of £7.85 per hour)

10 x 30 hours per week, typically 7.00am to 1.00pm Monday to Friday

(Job share opportunities are available working 16 hours per week 6.00am to 9.00/9.30am Mondays to Fridays)

Based at Bradford or Keighley but working across the district.

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic Street Cleansing Operatives to undertake activities such as the litter picking, sweeping, graffiti and fly poster removal, emptying waste bins and removing fly-tipping.

You will be also assist in provision of remedial grounds maintenance work such as grass cutting, hedge cutting, use of strimmers, blowers and weed-spraying as and when required.

A driving licence is desirable but not essential.

We are looking for people who can demonstrate the following competencies:-

• Able to communicate politely with members of the public and others.
• Understands the importance of keeping public areas clear of litter and rubbish and can list the hazards which fly tipping, overflowing waste bins and rubbish could create to members of the public.
• Able to carry out simple manual tasks to an acceptable standard.
• Able to work with others at a joint task or on their own.
• Able to keep an accurate record of events.
• Able to follow simple instructions in order to operate equipment safely or carry out a simple task.
• Understands and can describe simple health and safety risks appropriate to the job.
