Fostering Panel Clerk Admin Officer

Band 6:  £17,547 pa - £19,939 pa
1 x 37 hours

Temporary until March 2017

Based at Sir Henry Mitchell House, 4 Manchester Road, Bradford, BD5 0QL

 

For the post of Fostering Panel Clerk you will be expected to minute Fostering Panel Meetings, send out paperwork to relevant panel members, update databases with relevant information regarding status of carers.  This post works to strict deadlines and paperwork has to be submitted and sent out in a timely manner. 

 

The duties of the post will be mainly Minute taking which must be to a high standard due to the nature of the statutory work that is undertaken, therefore experience of minute taking is essential to this role.  

 

A laptop will be provided to use at the Fostering Panel to take these minutes so the ability to use microsoft packages and word processing skills will be essential to this role.  We are moving forward with technology so the aim is to be paperless and use electronic systems.

 

You will need to administer 3 panels per month and occasionally additional panels.  Once you have administered a panel, you will complete clerical work and send out relevant paperwork of cases presented to panel.

 

This is a demanding role and you will need to be resilient in terms of communication between various teams within Sir Henry Mitchell House. 

 

Will participate in specialist groups to resolve issues and develop new procedures regarding administration of fostering panels.


CORAM meetings – annual meeting - would attend when necessary, if national procedures are changing.

 

Will answer telephone calls relevant to panel, and signpost if appropriate to other colleagues.

 

Candidates will be required to evidence high levels of accuracy, attention to detail and work effectively to deadlines.

  • Deal and communicate with internal and external customers both face to face, on the telephone and by e-mail

  • Operate a wide range of office equipment

  • Use the standard ICT packages operated by the Council

  • Adapt working practices according to the situation

  • Interpret and present data in the most appropriate format

  • Be resilient under pressure and deliver to stated deadlines
