Bradford council is looking for an experienced Commissioning Officer to support the Senior Public Health Manager and the Commissioning Team with a range of contracts aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of children, young people and families. The post will be responsible for supporting and delivering best practice commissioning, including assessing need, developing business cases, defining requirement, identifying sourcing and procurement options as well as leading on specific projects as directed.
The post holder will develop, implement and audit business processes within the Department of Public Health in respect of commissioning activity, budget approvals and financial monitoring, produce action plans to improve performance and assist public health service leads to meet statutory, corporate and departmental obligations and requirements according to national policy/guidance and local policy and priorities.
It is expected that the post holder will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in commissioning, procurement and/or category management in an arena of significant range, scale or complexity, and educated to degree.
