Skills Service Manager

Grade J SP 1-4 £29,076 - £33,667 per annum.

This post is Maternity Cover.

Based in Leeds City Centre.

 

 

We are looking to recruit a highly motivated individual to manage WYCA’s high profile Skills Service, ensuring that it provides a valuable offer to businesses that responds to the needs of the economy and addresses skills shortages and skills gaps.

 

You will assess the business case for each application to the fund, making the necessary recommendations, along with actively managing contractor/s and influencing the activity of approximately 15 contractors.  You will be required to ensure detailed updates on all aspects of the programme, including information on spend, outputs and outcomes are available for a range of stakeholders including Local Authority Elected Members, Chief Executives, lead officers and LEP Board members.

 

You will need to have a detailed knowledge and understand of public funding to ensure that it is being used appropriately and experience of developing robust project management systems.

 

The successful candidate will need to have the skills to prepare detailed and concise reports and present them in a variety of different settings.

 

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, have a proven track record of preparing applications for economic development programmes and be able to influence, shape and where appropriate, lead the work of external teams, building strong working relationships with a wide range of public and private sectors organisations.
