Hours of work:          30 hours per week

Salary:                        £20,130 - £22,658 pro-rata (depending on experience)

Holiday allowance:   25 days per year plus bank holidays, pro-rata

We are a small but growing local mental health charity based in Shipley and have been supporting people from Bradford, Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven for over 30 years. This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone full of ideas, passion and a willingness to work hard, to help us shape our future and tell our story. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a marketing/communications role. You will need to be creative, highly motivated and proactive, well organised and confident working as part of a team, and independently, in a fast-paced environment. A positive attitude with a flexible approach and excellent verbal and copy writing skills are essential.

Key responsibilities:

 

1      To develop and implement a communications strategy which complements our wider strategy.

2      To manage our activities across all communications channels including PR, supporter engagement and stewardship, digital, social media, campaigns and publications.

3      To work to increase our profile – locally, regionally and nationally including the development

4      To produce high quality communications materials, briefing and liaising with external suppliers as required.

5      To act as guardian for The Cellar Trust branding – ensuring it is applied consistently.

6      To provide advice, training and tools for staff, to improve our communications as an organisation.

7      To work closely with colleagues to ensure that the client voice is at the heart of all our communications materials.

8      To write high quality and engaging copy in line with The Cellar Trust tone of voice, tailored to a range of stakeholders.

9      To work with the Head of Fundraising and Development to develop and deliver innovative and impactful communications materials and campaigns, aimed at:

-       Increasing supporter numbers and income from individual giving

-       Building corporate supporters

-       Building on our community fundraising

-       Supporting individuals and organisational supporters to fundraise

10   To lead on the development and implementation of communications strategies and promotional materials to increase engagement with, and maximise revenue from, our social enterprises.

11   To develop and cultivate relationships with the local media, including producing media releases and identifying opportunities to enhance our media presence.

12   To lead on generating content for our website and keeping all content relevant and up to date.

13   Work with staff and external agencies as required to continually improve the website’s functionality and maximise its potential and performance.

14   Work with our digital partners and colleagues to develop our digital offer for clients.

15   To manage all social media channels – creating, sourcing and sharing engaging content.

16   To support internal communications.

17   To work with the HR Officer to ensure a strong employer brand.

18   To keep up to date on best practice, particularly with regards to changes in communications innovation, legislation and codes of practice.

19   To analyse and report on all aspects of communications to allow for informed decision making and a targeted approach to marketing and communications activity.

20   To act as an ambassador for The Cellar Trust, including attending external events as required.

21   To work occasional unsociable hours (evenings and weekends) as required to run events etc.

Marketing qualification

EXPERIENCE

Strong experience in a marketing and/or communications role – delivering across the full marketing range/a variety of media

 

Experience contributing to or delivering marketing and communications strategy

 

Experience producing high quality copy for a range of audiences including editing and proof reading, and writing for the web

 

Experience of using a range of social media to promote activity and build profile

 

 

Experience of producing design briefs, and liaising with/commissioning designers and other suppliers including photographers to produce high quality materials

 

 

Experience of producing a range of communications materials and promotional collateral

 

SKILLS

Strong IT skills including experience of using a content management systems

 

Strong organisational skills including effective time management

 

Great storytelling/copywriting/editorial skills – and a proven track record in writing compelling content across a range of formats.

 

KNOWLEDGE

Good understanding of the links between marketing and fundraising in a charity
