Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner

SO2:   £30,451 - £32,234 pa

2 x 37 hours per week available on a one year fixed term contract or a 12 month secondment opportunity

 

Based at Sir Henry Mitchell House, 4 Manchester Road, Bradford BD5 0QL and at allocated family hub(s) within the district

 

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

Are you compassionate, creative and committed?  We have created a new post for you:  Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner (SDAP).  Four new posts will be jointly located within our four Family Hubs and specialist domestic abuse Early Help Team.  Our SDAP will use their specialist domestic abuse knowledge and skills to intervene earlier within families, be more consistent, committed and creative to prevent the continuation of abusive behaviour.  This is a role in which protection for and with whole families at the earliest opportunity is key to preventing domestic abuse from escalating. 

 

To be ready for this opportunity you need to be:

 

  • Innovative, entrepreneurial and dynamic. 
  • Capable of working in a way informed by the authentic voice of children, families and adults as witnesses, survivors or perpetrators of domestic abuse.
  • Confident, flexible and a strong team player
  • Comfortable with taking the lead on work, working closely with internal colleagues and external partners, and using your own initiative.
