The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016, requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert, outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

An opportunity has arisen for 2 Senior Social Workers to join Bradford’s Emergency Duty Team.

The role includes:

Providing  a wide range of adult and children social work services to vulnerable service users across the district outside of normal business hours. Working with skeleton staff, often working alone and in emergency type situations including health and community based settings , which may involve  the liberty and/or safety of service users and the general public.

Ensure that appropriate representation and support is provided to individuals, families and other professionals based on emergency or out of hours situations including enquiries, assessments and strategy discussions and Child Protection S47 Investigations.

• To Safeguard Children including those at Risk of Significant Harm , assess and  

• Manage risk and undertaken critical decisions making including taking professional  responsibility for decision making .   

Please note the post involves working  evenings, weekends and bank holidays to meet the needs of both Children, Adults and Families.

In respect of the pay for EDT Social Workers, they are entitled to a 20% allowance for working out of hours.
