Children’s Residential Care

B POSITIVE PATHWAYS

WE’RE DOING THINGS DIFFERENTLY IN BRADFORD…

We’ve looked far and wide for what we believe are the best models for Residential Care for children and young people. We have adapted and developed these ideas further, to create a truly innovative and exciting Model of Care.

We are now looking for an exceptional Manager to develop the service and lead the Residential and Outreach team.

Our intention is to provide inspirational care, tailored to the individual needs of the children and young people. Through care, support and encouragement we are determined to create a stable and secure base, where children and young people have a sense of belonging and where they can begin to understand, address and work through their past experiences and present difficulties and be able to prepare for and achieve their full potential in their futures.

The inspirational care and support will be delivered by exceptional practitioners   applying their knowledge and training relating to our Model of Care. This includes:

  • Signs of Safety – A strength based solution focussed approach to Risk Assessment and Child Protection
  • PACE (theoretically overarched by DDP) - Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy as a foundation to the model
  • Outcome Star as the tool for supporting and measuring change, progress and outcomes of the children and young people.

The Model of Care is a consistent feature across all our homes, but with each home having a specific purpose and function within our B Positive Pathways model.

Our B Positive Pathways model includes:

  • Mainstream homes – where children and young people require more care and support than a substitute family can provide.
  • Specialist homes – smaller homes where children and young people are supported by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the homes.
  • A Specialist Hub – this provides emergency and short term accommodation as well as outreach support to children, young people and their families on the edge of care. This includes integrating a multi-disciplinary team of professionals within the hub. It is the Registered Manager of this service that we are seeking to recruit.

Our model is supported by DFE Innovation funding, which has enabled us to transform the way we do things and to provide an integrated comprehensive service

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Inspirational and committed to supporting children and young people to achieve the very best outcomes for their futures.
  • Therapeutically minded and has the necessary principles and values to place the best interests of the children and young people at the heart of everything they do.
  • Able to reflect on and in practice.
  • Motivated, resilient and able to work flexibly under pressure.
  • Creative in their approach and has the ability to work as part of a truly multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
  • Committed to learning and development and able to seek out opportunities to further enhance their knowledge and practice.
  • Proud to be part of a service that makes a real difference to children and young people.

We are seeking the very best person and therefore are offering

  • An opportunity to work alongside partners in a unique and innovative team of professionals.
  • Professional support and supervision.
  • High quality training and opportunities for further personal and professional development.
  • A competitive salary
