SEND Project Officer

Band 7 £21,166 - £23,836 (Pro rata for Part Time Posts)

1 x 18.5 hours per week (flexitime scheme in operation)

Temporary for 2 years (initially)

Based at Margaret McMillan Tower, Bradford and may be asked to work in other locations for service needs/requirements

 

The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.

 

The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate.  Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.

 

Following our recent ILACS, Bradford Children's Services is on an exciting and challenging improvement journey which is affording a number of new opportunities to be developed.  With our SEND Inspection potentially on the horizon, there is a strong senior leadership and political ambition to ensure that Bradford's services for children and young people with SEND are kept high on the agenda.

 

We are looking to appoint a SEND Project officer to our newly formed SEND Transformation and Compliance Team. The role will involve providing Project and business support the SEND Transformation and Compliance Team to deliver a programme of SEND Transformation projects and work streams, delivering a number of project outcomes as defined by the SEND Transformation and Compliance Manager.

 

Ideally you will have experience in a project and business support role and are able to support projects, using project management techniques and tools. You will also be competent in the use of a range of Microsoft packages: word-processing, Excel, PowerPoint and use of the internet and Social Media and are qualified to Microsoft Office Level 2 and NVQ Level 2 in Business and Admin.

 

In return you will be joining Bradford at an exciting time where you will from part of a newly established Transformation and Compliance team in the Education and Learning part of the Directorate.  You will have an opportunity to help drive forward change within your service area and be an integral part of a wider improvement journey for children and young people.
