Project Officers - Implementation
Grade I - £26,402 to £30,571
Based In Leeds City Centre
The West Yorkshire Combined Authority is seeking to strengthen its Implementation team, which oversees a £1bn+ portfolio of capital programmes and projects. These schemes are either delivered directly by the Combined Authority or through one of our partner organisations (public and private sector).
The role
The Project Officer role is a key function within the project management team. The role is to support and deliver a wide variety of major infrastructure, transport and corporate projects across the Implementation team. The role holder will be primarily based in Leeds City Centre, although there may be requirements to work at partner organisations within the Leeds City Region. The successful candidate will:
· Support the project team in the planning and delivery of complex projects;
· Take the lead on the delivery of low/medium projects, and lead work packages that form a part of more complex projects;
· Be a visible and enthusiastic team member, encouraging partnership working across the organisation;
· Take a positive approach to self-development;
· Have a collaborative working style and be a team player;
· Help to deliver projects on time and to budget in a fast moving project environment;
· Have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and MS Project products; and
· Have an excellent working knowledge of project methodologies e.g. PRINCE2. Candidates will hold an entry level project management qualification, such as, PRINCE 2 Foundation.
The person
You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent relevant education/experience. You should also be able to demonstrate practical experience of successfully performing in a similar role.
