The Code of Practice on the English language requirement for public sector workers, Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 requires that Councils ensure that all candidates applying for customer facing posts must be assessed in order to establish their fluency in English.
The criteria under special knowledge and experience on the job profile which is shown in this advert outlines what level of fluency you will be expected to demonstrate. Therefore, it is essential that you provide examples in your application.
We are currently looking to strengthen our Internal Audit Section. The Senior Auditor post requires applicants to be AAT qualified or at least part qualified IIA, CIMA or CCAB and have 3 years of experience in the provision of internal audit services.
You will be responsible for the delivery of risk based internal audits, working as part of a forward thinking team that provides an internal audit service to the Council and the West Yorkshire Pension Fund. The work will be varied and challenging. You will provide assurance to management that the key financial and operational risks within the Council are being managed effectively. You will develop solutions where identified weaknesses expose the Council to unacceptable levels of risk. You will advise management and other stakeholders on both internal audit matters and on the most effective governance, risk management and internal control arrangements.
Recent experience of local authority internal auditing and use of MKinsight audit software would be an advantage but is not essential.
